Community participating in NASA's #Globalselfie Earth Day event!Posted: 4/19/2014
NASA invites you -- and everyone else on the planet -- to take part in a worldwide celebration of Earth Day this year with the agency's #GlobalSelfie event. The year 2014 is a big one for NASA Earth science. Five NASA missions designed to gather critical data about our home planet are launching to space this year. NASA is marking this big year for Earth science with a campaign called Earth Right Now, and as part of this campaign the agency is asking for your help this Earth Day, April 22. In our community, students will share photos of their world using Edmodo and Twitter. Mrs. Glass will upload photos to Twitter and students will watch them become a part of NASA's mosiac Earth on April 22nd! NASA We'll be monitoring photos posted to five social media sites: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and Flickr.Post your photo to Twitter, Instagram or Google+ using the hashtag #GlobalSelfie, or post it to the #GlobalSelfie event page on Facebook or the #GlobalSelfie group on Flickr. You can also join the #GlobalSelfie Google+ event page. No social media accounts? No problem! To submit photos either send them to Mrs. Glass via my email address (found on the Parents tab) or submit them to Edmodo. If you do have a TWITTER account, make sure to use both hashtags: #globalselfie AND #commF2014. Did you know?Posted: 9/22/13
Did you know that Mrs. Glass is trying to get MORE resources for our classroom???What's a grant? (we discussed this in class) A grant is free money or materials that is funded by an organization or the government that doesn't have to be repaid. For this opportunity, Mrs. Glass needs your help! Have your parents to click on the link (the picture of DonorChoose.org) to learn more about the project and have them to send this information to everyone they know! If they (EVERYONE) donates any amount of money over the few days, the amount will be doubled!!! Act Fast and we all (your teacher and yourself) can have more fun in our classroom! |
STUDENTS WROTE LETTERS TO OUR 'POTUS'
February 23, 2014
The students studied the branches of government. While exploring the executive branch, the discussion lead to students discussing all members of the U.S. Executive Branch (which includes the President and his cabinet). Letters to the President were mailed to the White House and he has OFFICALLY replied to our requests. Please start to check YOUR MAIL at home to see if he has replied to your individual letters. Let Mrs. Glass know when you get a response. |
